Frequently asked questions (scroll down for questions about shipping):

Q. How do I install my Cablz on my glasses?​

A. The installation instructions are on the back of your packaging.  Simply put a small dab of alcohol based hand sanitizer inside the silicone tube before you install your Cablz onto your glasses.  This will allow them to easily slide onto the frames (especially wider frames).  Allow the alcohol to evaporate and your Cablz will hold tight to your glasses.  Make sure your hand sanitizer does not contain any lotions or moisturizers, this may cause your Cablz to slide off the frame.

Q. How do I remove my Cablz from my glasses?​

A. Gently roll or peel the silicone ends off of your frames.  NEVER YANK, TUG, RIP OR PULL your Cablz off of your glasses; you will break them.​  You should gently roll or slide them off the ends of your glasses.

Q. I already own Cablz Zipz and I want to order more, how do I know which size I already have?​

A. The sizing of the Cablz Zipz is measured with the Cablz fully extended.  The length of the cable/wire/monofilament itself should be approximately:​

  • 12-12.5" wire, buy a 14" Cablz Zipz

  • 10-10.5" wire, buy a 12" Cablz Zipz

  • ​8-8.5" wire, buy a 10" Cablz Zipz​

DO NOT include the rubber ends in the measurement or you will order the wrong size.​

 

Q. My Cablz used to hold tight to my glasses but they are coming off now, how do I fix this?​

 

A. Sometimes oils from your scalp and hair can get into the silicone ends.  Gently remove your Cablz from your glasses and place a small dab of alcohol-based hand sanitizer (without any aloe or moisturizers) into the silicone ends, smush it around and let it thoroughly dry.  Clean off the ends of your glasses before re-installing your Cablz.​

Q. How can I clean my Cablz?​

A. Gently remove your Cablz from your glasses according to removal instructions above.  Use some soap and water to clean your Cablz, then set them aside to dry thoroughly.  Make sure to clean the inside of the silicone ends using alcohol-based hand sanitizer (without any aloe or moisturizers).  Place a small dab of hand sanitizer (without any aloe or moisturizers) into the silicone ends, smush it around and let it thoroughly dry.  Clean off the ends of your glasses before re-installing your Cablz.​

 

Q. Do Cablz fit on all glasses?​

 

A. Our universal ends fit on about 85% of glasses on the market. If your frame has very large temples, use the XL ends, for thinner temples, use the Skinnyz ends. Look at our sizing chart on the XL and Skinnyz pages for reference. The only frames we cannot fit are very thin, wire frames.  Check out our Size Guide link at the bottom of the page.​

 

Q. Is there a warranty on my Cablz?​

 

A. Cablz are covered for MANUFACTURERS DEFECTS ONLY.  You must have your original proof of purchase for your Cablz to make a warranty claim.  Contact info@defendyoureyewear.ca or 1-844-727-4093 for warranty inquiries. Do not return any product without prior authorization.  Items returned without prior return authorization will not be replaced, or returned to you and will not be considered for warranty claims.

Q. How will my order be shipped and what is the cost?​

 

A. Orders are shipped by Canada Post lettermail as this is the most cost effective way to ship your Cablz order.  Canada Post has recently increased their cost for stamps by 25% so unfortunately we have had to raise our shipping charge to compensate. 

 

Q. I never received tracking information, how can I track my shipment?​

There is no tracking on Canada Post lettermail so once the order leaves our facility, we have no way to verify where the order is or when it will arrive.  There are no shipping guarantees and unfortunately we are unable to verify what has happened if you do not receive your order.

Q. Are there any other shipping options?​

We are working on adding courier shipping options to our website, please stay tuned.  In the meantime, you can contact us if you would like us to send your order by courier and we can get you a quote for the courier shipping rate.

Q. Why is the shipping cost so expensive for my Flotz order?​

Due to the fact that the Flotz cannot be shipped by lettermail, we are unable to offer $4.00 shipping.  Flotz must be shipped by courier so we have established a flat rate for shipping Flotz anywhere in Canada.

Q. Can I return my Cablz?​

We do not accept returns of Cablz products.
